WHEN ARE YOU AT YOUR BEST?

May 7, 10:57 AM

I really admire people who have such high energy, who are always thinking and doing 16 things at once. I have never been one of those people. I could only take 12 hours per semester in college because I just am not a good multi-tasker and I do best focusing on one thing at a time.

As I got older and became a mother and the main home manager I did get a bit better at multi-tasking. I could keep the house on schedule and take care of the kids and do some volunteer activities. Starting this business, however, really put my multi-tasking to the test and many times I just wasn’t very good at it. So, I realized I had to make some changes.

To start I figured out when I was at my best during the day and when I wasn’t. I am a morning person, so I knew that anything that takes major concentration and needed to be tackled then. Also, I go to bed at 10:00pm. I always have, so I know that tackling anything major after dinner is going to fail. Finally, I realized that I need a little down time in the afternoon to collect myself and replenish my energy, so I try to take a twenty minute cat nap. I do feel guilty about that because our society is not into siestas, but I work best when I honor my energy flows.

So, when are you at your best?
