Professional Organizing
Organizing is an art and a science. We inspire our clients to learn the science of the Clear and Simple Method™ while simultaneously demonstrating the “art” of Making it All Fit. When I started Making it All Fit, I wanted to be able to back up my “art” with the “science” of Professional Organizing, so I decided to make the financial and time commitment to become a Clear and Simple Certified Professional Organizer™. This certification involved 40 hours of classroom work as well as a graduation project to demonstrate my application of the skills that I was taught. This trademarked system utilizes a 3-Phase Organizing Process that I share with all my clients. Please take the time to read through the process so you have a thorough understanding of my policies and practices.
Phase I: See it™
- This phase begins at the initial contact, when you ask me how I work, and I ask you about the opportunity you have for me.
- If you decide to hire me, I would deliver the following items to you:
- Questionnaire about your space, your likes, and dislikes
- A Left Brain/Right Brain Questionnaire
- Five element Feng Shue Questionnaire
- These items will take you 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and they help me customize a plan that is unique to you.
- Phase I ends with an Initial Consultation, in which I will spend about 1.5 hours with you asking questions, creating your vision for the space, taking pictures and measurements.
Phase II: MAP it™
MAP is an acronym for Make A Plan, and in this phase I provide you with:
- A blueprint of your space
- A step-by-step plan of your vision which includes a rough estimate of time and materials needed
- At this point, you have a choice:
- Say “Thanks for the plan, I think I can tackle this now.”
- I thank you and ask you to call me if you need me.
- Say “I’d like you to implement the plan you have created.”
- We proceed to Phase III: Do It.
Phase III: Do it™
This phase you can remember by the acronym STACKS, as follows:
- Sort: I set up banker boxes and remove everything in the space and sort into categories
- Toss: You decide what is to remain in the space and what needs to go to the trash or be donated
- Assign a Home: I design a blueprint of where everything will be in the space and nothing else happens until you approve
- Contain: After purchasing containers (if necessary), I containerize and label everything so you can find everything with ease
- Keep it Up: I design a map to help you keep the space organized and tranquil
- Simplify: I design a map to help you simplify your life
I use this process for:
- Closets, garages, bedrooms, basements, home offices and cars
- Working with children in bedrooms and playrooms
- Time management for children and adults
- Paper management
- Moving management
