About Me
As I was writing this page, I realized I wanted to share my personal story. What a huge life I have had. At 22 I thought I was beginning this big corporate career; however, life had a different yet wonderful plan B.
I always think of my life according to decades. In the 60’s and 70’s I was a kid. The 80s were busy! I graduated from High School, graduated from College, (University of Missouri, B. A. in Psychology), was married and had a baby, (our daughter Sami). The 90’s involved being a mom; driving, taking care of the house and raising our children. We had our son Austin in 1993 and in 1996 found out he had Autism. My organization skills were not only helpful, but vital to Austin’s development. Structure was essential to his development and at 14 he is thriving and has taught us about being the best we can be regardless of what life may throw your way.
While doing my mom role, I also was a volunteer; PTO President, chairing talent shows, fundraisers and coordinating events. Those opportunities helped me further hone my organization and time management skills. Taking on a new project, coordinating, following up, and watching all the elements meld together was so rewarding.
I also started running in 1995. I was never a coordinated person, but I could run. Speed was never my thing, but I could go for long periods of time. I ran The Disney World Marathon in 1999 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society raising 11,000 dollars; again my organization skills were important for keeping track of the money coming into the organization. I also began weight lifting and fell in love again. I enjoy creating programs and testing them. The weird looks I received at the gym couldn’t deter my fun. In 2003 I became an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer.
Now in 2007, a new chapter begins. Our daughter will be going away to college and our son will soon be in High School. It was time to face my fear and Go For it, Start my Business! This new chapter has been exhilarating! I love what I do and feel truly blessed to be able to work at something I love. It is the perfect combination of creating, and interacting with others to help them overcome their obstacles.
